Founder’s Story
Hi, I’m Kristy!
In 2012, I was run over by a drunk driver while walking on the side of the road. I suffered a shattered pelvis and was in a wheelchair, relearning to walk for over a year. That’s when I searched for holistic alternatives and discovered CBD! I’ve used hemp for both my mental and physical recovery ever since. To help bring more science, research, and education to the industry, I decided to graduate in Biological & Agricultural Engineering. After working in Kentucky in almost every aspect of the hemp industry - from processing hemp grain and lab testing CBD products for purity, to building the first ever US-grown hempcrete home in America, I founded Cypress Hemp in 2017 in Louisiana and Virginia.

The “Why” Behind Our Logo
As part of our mission to regenerate the Earth, for every product purchased, we donate to plant a tree through reforestation and biodiversity projects, hence the tree! Now, “Why a Cypress tree?” Empowering humans to thrive, no matter the conditions, is part of our mission and cypress trees are one of the most resilient and impressive tree families on Earth. From the great sequoias on arid mountain slopes, to the bald cypress that grow for thousands of years in wetland swamps, Cypress thrives.
